Appreciation of a 4-year-old マーラー
Having been into ルドラクシャ for so long, the one I feel the most attached to is this マーラー in my hand. I had nothing to do today, so I took it out and snapped a few sets of photos to show everyone its current state.
I acquired this マーラー a few years ago. At the time, it was just an ordinary yellow-skin ルドラクシャ(大玉). The 紋様 was decent, the density was good, and there was nothing particularly outstanding about it. I never expected that after ブレイクイン for so long, its current color and パティナ would be far better than I anticipated.

Appreciation of a 4-year-old broken-in ルドラクシャ マーラー
When I first got it, the ビーズ were light brown, and the surface had no gloss at all. I was a complete novice back then, and as soon as I got it, I rubbed it aggressively. After a week, I found the color had actually darkened, which made me really anxious.
It was only after looking up information that I realized the foundation work wasn't done properly. I went back to dry brushing with a stiff-bristle brush for twenty minutes a day. After brushing for over a month and cleaning away the アルカリ析出 on the surface and inside the 紋様, the ビーズ finally started to show a matte finish.
After the foundation work, I just wore and rubbed it normally. For the first three months, I brushed more and rubbed less. Once it got a 光沢, I slowly increased the rubbing time. Around half a year, the color deepened, and that layer of gloss on the surface emerged.

Current state
Now, the color of this ルドラクシャ マーラー is deep red, translucent and bright, with a thick パティナ and a very strong jade-like quality. Looking at it under the sunlight, every bead exudes a warm, gentle luster. The 龍脊 is translucent, the valleys are slightly darker, and the three-dimensional feel of the 紋様 is particularly strong. It feels pleasantly heavy and solid in the hand.
A couple of days ago, a friend saw this マーラー and asked if I had bought an old one, saying that this パティナ and color must have taken at least three to five years of ブレイクイン. I told him I had only been rubbing it for two years, and he didn't believe me. Actually, with ルドラクシャ, if the method is right and the time is put in, the results will naturally show. There's no need to rush.
Looking back at the ブレイクイン over the past two years, there is actually no special secret; it's just patience. Rubbing and brushing a bit every day, not rushing, and not messing around. When encountering problems, I looked up information and found ways to solve them, never giving up. Over time, the マーラー will naturally reward you.
Summary
When it comes to playing with マーラーs, in the end, you're not playing with the マーラー, but cultivating your own mind and character. You can't rush it, and you can't be lazy. Those twenty minutes every day, watching the ビーズ slowly change, also allows the mind to gradually settle down.
I'll leave the photos of this マーラー here for now, and I'll update if there are any new changes. Thanks to everyone who read this far, see you in the next post.
