This Nepal Rudraksha (large) follows the classic Double Dragon Grain style. Each seed is a short-stump plum-blossom shape, with mukhi lines naturally rising from both ends of the hole, two plump dragon-ridges running through the entire seed along the mukhi lines like two coiling dragons, coherent ridge lines, thick flesh, deep and non-empty texture, and good hand weight, which is a typical cortex of high-altitude Nepal materials.

Breaking-in is key

Do not rush to handle the new seed with your hands. First, use a nano brush to dry-brush for 3 to 5 days to remove alkaline bloom and pulp residue deep in the texture, then switch to a boar-bristle brush to polish repeatedly along the dragon-ridge direction. Seeds with proper breaking-in will show a warm glassy sheen on the surface, and the edges of the dragon-ridge will become brighter with more brushing, this step determines whether the final color will be even.

Breaking-in follows a rhythm

In the early stage, focus on brushing rather than handling, with a 70% brushing and 30% handling ratio, so that sweat and oil can evenly penetrate every texture; keep your hands clean before handling, to avoid dirt from excessive sweat. After 1 to 2 months of handling, the seed color will gradually change from light yellow to ginger yellow, then slowly transition to oxford red, the three-dimensional sense of the Double Dragon-ridge will become more prominent with the patina, and the plum-blossom shape will also become clearer.

Daily maintenance is simple

Put it in a sealed bag when not handling, to avoid cracking from wind; keep away from water and excessive sweat, if it gets wet, air-dry it in a cool place immediately. As long as you are patient and brush properly, this Dragon-ridge Plum-blossom will finally show a red, translucent and jade-like patina effect, with distinct dragon-ridges and plump plum-blossoms, it is a mala worth keeping for a long time.
